April 9th Rally Against SB5; Columbus, Ohio

This is the second rally against Senate Bill 5 that I've been to in recent months. An estimate of 11,000 people made it out to fight for union rights on the west lawn of the Statehouse. The moto of the event seemed to be, "We are Ohio." Representing the middle class of the state, the crowd was confident in their opposition towards Kasich and his naive budget cut proposals.

Protest Against SB 5 Rally Columbus, Ohio

Protesters gathered in front of the Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio February 22nd to show opposition against Senate Bill 5. This bill would eliminate collective bargaining for public employees. A huge amount of people showed their support for the opposition and 5 or 6 local news stations were there to cover the event. It ran from 1pm to 7pm.

Third Eye reception

These photos are from the Third Eye reception at the OSU Urban Art Space on January 28th, 2011. Other photos were taken during the installation of the actual show weeks before. 6 of my pieces were featured in the show among 6 other photographers, 1 video artist, and 2 performance artists (one which was live at the reception, the other being played on a TV monitor). A very great experience it was indeed. The show is up until March 25th, 2011. Thanks to all the artists, curator Ryan Walters, and the City Center assistants for making this happen.

Ray's Indoor Bike Park

When my friend Nicole told me she was going to an indoor mountain bike park I was immediately onboard. XTREME sports are something I've never had an open opportunity to document. When I was a teenager skateboarding was a big thing for me. Since college I've almost completely stopped skating; school has been consuming me. Going to the bike park with Nicole seemed like a perfect opportunity to revive that flame...and it did. These are selected photographs from that experience.

Class Project Video

*I'm having trouble making a clickable link for some reason but here it is for copy/paste:

http://vimeo.com/17838607

Assignment was to create a story or narration using any medium within media art. This video is a compilation of photos shown at 4 frames per second to mimic video. All of the photographs underwent plastic surgery in the Adobe After Effects program. They were stitched back together in Final Cut Pro where the video was discharged and exported. The video will be expanded upon soon.

This photograph was taken in Hocking Hills State Park using a Nikon D80 and a 17-50mm Promaster lens.
